New Years Beauty Resolutions

I've had clients who have retired and finally want to time to invest in their beauty routine. The key is to know what compliments you the best - generally we look at face and eye shape, undertone, hair and eye color. Sound complicated?   1. Focus on skincare - Every Pro Makeup Artist know that good makeup starts with good skin. You'll actually need to wear less makeup and it'll look better on. The first step is knowing your skin type. From there, decide your budget. We recommend sticking with one skincare line to start so you can build a product regimen that is compatible. Start with the basics: exfoliate, cleanse, moisturize and sun protect - then build from there.


2. Clear out your makeup drawer - Over the year, our products tend to accumulate often unused and unseen in our makeup drawers. Plus, skincare and makeup have expiration dates. Don't do your skin a disservice by using old items. Start the year off right by throwing out expired products or items that you have never used. You can even donate unused makeup items or gift them to friends and family.


3. Perfect Your Personal Makeup Routine - It's never too late to take the time to find your perfect look. I've had clients who have retired and finally want to time to invest in their beauty routine. 4. Invest in your Self-Care - It can be overwhelming trying to copy a youtube video or knowing the right products to purchase. Cut to the chase and hire a professional. At IMA we offer the following services:

  • In studio One on One - Bring your makeup bag and sit with a pro MUA for an hour and half. You'll discuss your makeup needs a craft a look together step by step to find your perfect makeup routine.

  • Become a Pro - Are you already pretty good at makeup? Consider taking a Professional Makeup Artist Certifiction Course to take your skills to the next level. Practice on others to master technique for all skin types, tones and ages. This could be the beginning of your career in Makeup Artistry.
